Does the Queen Loft Bed require a special type of mattress?
No. The wooden slats support most innerspring queen size mattresses. For a memory foam mattress, you will need a solid surface to keep it from sinking. If you plan to use a memory foam mattress, you can add a 1/8” thick masonite board or extra slats to your order. These options are available in the Accessories tab above.Will I need a box spring?
Box springs are not necessary on the Queen Loft Bed. In fact, we recommend not using on to avoid wasting valuable headspace.Are the x-braces required on the loft bed frame?
Yes. The x-braces are what make the Queen Loft Bed stable and safe for adult use.How is the ladder attached to the bed frame?
The standard ladder is detachable and can be placed anywhere around the loft bed. It securely clips to the aluminum frame and will not move when it’s in use.How far does the ladder extend?
If your loft bed is built for a 9’ ceiling, the ladder extends 20” from the end of the bed. We also make a version that only extends 13” from the bed at no cost. Well, I love everything about it: style, quality, how perfectly solid it is and feels and more. I put it together all on my own, as the precision placement of holes and nuts was spot on. I know it was on the pricey side, but I am glad I went with it. Since I work from home, I wanted a way to maximize my small bedroom/office space and I am able to get my new desk, 49"" Samsung Curved screen monitor, with 2 24"" monitors on each end and file cabinet under the bed and works perfect. I found and purchased a bench from VEVORE that is only about 20"" deep and fits exactly between both leg posts on the opposite end of my computer desk, it is so perfect that people think that it was custom-made and came with the bed. I like the quality of the latter, but I am 60 and latter climbing is not for me, and any step options always had one crawling into bed from the foot of the bed, not for me. So I built my own steps and deck along the back length of the bed rather than the width, so now I have a wood topped milk crate (purchase brand new on Amazon for about $400) which were black also, and matches the bed perfect, and now I just climb comfortable steps to a long deck and climb in bed as if I was still on the floor. I tried for years to purchase a loft bed with such a step-up deck, but no one understood what I was trying to accomplish. They wanted to give someone an adult loft bed, but still getting in and out like a child. There is no other bed like this on the market that I saw that even came close to this bed, I was not crazy about the cost, but the perfect quality and the solid this bed is and was very well planned out, I can not imagine any other bed that would be so solid even placed against a wall and this one is solid standing on its own. So in my case, this was perfect for me and I find it well worth the cost for a superior built bed. I do love the lighter weight aluminum frame and the coating is perfect. So thank you for this product.

I opted for a white glove delivery and the guys that showed up did not have a clue what they were doing. I reached out to the team and they kindly resent a desk and a piece of the stairs. Blue Truck have only recently reached out to me to confirm that they have received the pieces but don’t have a delivery date. It’s unfortunately been more than a month. Would highly recommend the team to vertically integrate as this is the only in person interaction you have with your customer instead of outsourcing - or partner with a company that knows your products to the T. The bed is amazing but I’m not using it because it was built incorrectly from A-Z and still waiting on the replacement parts to show up.

Those of you with multi monitor setups or home studios will be happy with how much there is to play with. It's also exceptionally solid. I have a purple hybrid 4 on it, a very tall and very heavy mattress. After a month of paranoia, checking the bolts and looking for bending, I found absolutely no movement or play. I've had three total people on it engaged in adult activity, and there was absolutely no extra movement out of the bed. The bed frame is nice quality. It was also relatively easy to assemble. The steps we bought with it, instead of a ladder, are very low quality. What we received looked like it was sitting in a warehouse for years. Very dirty, chipped and damaged in multiple places and the wood feels soft to the step, as if it will buckle under you. I notified the company and sent pictures, but never heard back. I just let it go. Nice concept overall, and my teenager loves the loft. If not for the bad steps, I would give it 5 stars.

My Queen size Loft Bed Frame is much sturdier than I had thought it was going to be! I knew from reviews that this company makes very solid/sturdy products, but still! That being said, make sure to have a level around to make sure you have the feet spaced apart correctly to make it stable, as they don't include a cheapy one! Also make sure to check your wood slats. If they are bowed in one direction, place the wood slats so that the high part of the arch is up towards the bottom of your bed! Also, pay attention to which of the long metal rail has holes for the side railing, as it's easy to accidentally grab it and place it on the back of your frame instead of the front! Wish it had a sticker or something denoting it as different from the other long rail, though that's really on me not noticing the rail i grabbed had holes and the other one did not. Also, beware that the bolts/screws holding the X-Stabilizers dos tick out a little from the frame and will not allow the frame to sit flush against a wall and if the bed moves slightly when you climb the ladder or while moving around laying in bed, it may put scratches/gouges in your wall! Just moved my frame over and found this out, so will probably be looking at some foam or something to between those screw/bolt heads and my walls. My side rail tubes were also cut a bit on the short side and don't fully fit on the uprights that hold the horizontal tubes together. Not even when the uprights are placed as close together as the sliding cutouts will allow. Not really a big deal to me as it's still close enough together to keep the horizontal tubes from falling or coming off so far, but loose enough that with the plastic inserts that are supposed to keep them from sliding/rolling, they still do so. My only real issue and reason for docking 1 star is that during shipping several of the metal posts and the ladder have some nicks in them and they are fairly sharp and i have scratched myself pretty good a couple of times, but I have a nail file and a metal file, if the nail one doesn't work, I plan on using to try and take the burs off. Would definitely recommend 2 people and some space for putting together the queen sized loft bed frame if you can. Built mine in my small room on my own and it was a task and a half.
